Enchanting forest elopement

Dimity EcoBride, Annemieke, was married in the beautiful forests of Magoebaskloof, Limpopo in May 2017. The gown, hand-crafted at the Dimity Bridal Studio in Johannesburg, embodied the EcoBride principles of sustainability and truly matched the gorgeous forest setting. Annemieke's gown featured nude texturised crepe georgette and tulle. The corsetted bodice was embellished with vintage French Chantilly lace and guipure leaves, as well as antique Egyptian tulle. It was  finished off with an exposed lace-up and a dramatic train.  The addition of custom made tassels added a sense of whimsy to her Dimity EcoBride gown.

Helping a bride in need!

Generally a bride will visit the Dimity studio about 6-8 months before her wedding day, to start the process of creating her one-of-a-kind designer gown. However, there have been orders which we completed in just under a month! Megan came to us through a referral weeks before her wedding due to an unforeseen issue with the previous designer. We were very happy to help her and due to our flexible design process, we were able to accommodate the short time-frame.

Megan’s bespoke wedding gown was constructed from a luxurious satin and featured a fully corseted bodice. Her bodice was adorned in delicate French Chantilly lace, dotted mesh and a floral scallop. We also designed her bridal accessories including a dramatic cathedral veil, rose gold garter and crystal belt. Megan’s belt was created from soft pink silk satin, embellished with her lace flowers, pink crystals and rose gold Swarovski crystals to match her engagement ring. Megan’s Dimity wedding dress was finished off with a gorgeous long train -  she looked radiant on her wedding day in Pretoria!

Pastel Spring Styled Shoot

Dimity was involved in a gorgeous pastel spring styled shoot earlier this year at the picturesque Bell Amour Wedding Venue in Pretoria. Our whimsical Iris skirt paired beautifully with the Boho Chantilly lace blouse and Camille crop. This delicate lace ensemble complimented the pastel décor, flowers and cake. We had such fun with the team of professional suppliers and hope to inspire your spring wedding plans in 2018.

Winter styled shoot

Dimity Bridal Studio was featured in a winter styled shoot at the picturesque Pretoria wedding venue, Bell Amour.  The shoot combined refreshing hues  of blues and greys to give a lighter feeling to the usual dark, jewel colours of winter theme styling. Elegant candles and a floral runner added a touch of luxury to the table setting.

The bride wore Dimity Bridal Studio's Iris corset which features a scooped back and sumptuous embroidered beaded lace. The corset was paired with a tulle skirt adorned in antique filet lace and delicate handworked crochet details. Our Boho blouse and winter white cathedral veil finished off this regal winter look. We are thrilled to share the final photographs with you and hope they inspire you in the styling of your own whimsical winter wedding.

An Eco-Chic Cape Town Styled Shoot

Dimity Bridal Studio sent one of our EcoBride wedding dresses to beautiful Cape Town for an Eco-themed styled shoot. Our eco-friendly bridal gowns feature slow fashion and zero waste principles in pattern making, cutting and sewing. One way to be earth-sensitive is using reclaimed fabrics instead of brand new materials (which are polluting in their creation).
Our Camille crop used in the shoot was constructed from reclaimed silk satin and antique French Chantilly lace. It was paired with the Boho skirt which features antique pleated chiffon with varied French Chantilly lace and cotton tape lace flowers. It was wonderful to be involved in this unique styled shoot. We hope you are inspired to go green for your wedding day!

Wedding Inspirations Magazine Winter

Dimity was featured in the latest Wedding Inspirations Magazine 2017 winter issue. Our beaded lace Iris corset and draped silk taffeta skirt highlights the 2017 bridal trend of separates. Detachable flounce sleeves finished off the ensemble. Our second gown in the issue is the Leila dress featuring a plunging illusion mesh neckline and removable sheer silk organza overlay. This new creation celebrates the whimsical trend of 3D flowers and a deep v-neckline. Buy the latest issue to discover this year's hottest bridal trends from page 26.

Amor Warden

It’s always so special making a wedding dress for a friend of the Dimity team. Amor got married at the beautiful Chez Charlene Wedding Venue in Pretoria in June this year. She wore a bespoke satin Dimity gown featuring a structured corset bodice and illusion lace sleeves. Amor’s delicate dress was adorned in embroidered lace and guipure lace flowers which floated beautifully on her skin. The gown was fitted from the bodice down and flared just below the hips. Her  dramatic lace train truly made this dress a showstopper! Dimity also designed Amor's bespoke garter from her guipure lace and dotted it with Swarovski crystals.
