Winter Wedding Dress

Getting married in the cooler months this year? Now is the perfect time to start thinking about your dream wedding dress. Dimity specialises in bespoke bridal gowns that reflect the bride's unique personality, style and the type of wedding she is having. For your winter wedding, take inspiration from one of our winter bridal looks.

Our Boho gown features seperates - a Chantilly lace blouse and a vintage pleated chiffon skirt with a Chantilly & Battenberg lace peplum. We can incorporate this idea into your bridal gown by creating a seperate lace bolero or shawl to keep you warm on your wedding day. Book your appointment by contacting us today +27 74 100 7918 | liora@dimity.co.za.

Floral Beauty

We're still swooning over this photo from the Admired in Africa conference last May of our Leila gown. The 3D georgette flowers and romantic lace paired beautifully with those gorgeous flowers!

A Pink Dimity Gown

Today, we're looking back at Wendy's bespoke Dimity wedding gown which was was not the traditional white dress! She wore a soft structure pink bridal gown with illusion mesh lace sleeves. The antique French Chantilly lace was hand embroidered with pastel coloured bows and delicate beads. We also created a sleek white belt and dramatic cathedral veil to finish off her bridal look!

A Floral 70s Inspired Dimity Gown

When Antoinette came to the Dimity studio in Blairgowrie, Randburg for her consultation, she told us she wanted a unique, non-traditional wedding dress. Antoinette's favourite singer is Stevie Nicks, who inspired the 1970's design that we constructed from her mother's own bridal gown. Dimity often completes orders where a bride wants us to incorporate her mom's or gran’s dress. For Antoinette’s bodice, we used the swirly embroidered lace and guipure lace leaves from her mother’s gown. These were also dotted on her dramatic bell sleeves which made her dress a true showstopper! To finish off her unique Dimity bridal gown, we printed a custom floral print onto her crepe skirt which added a touch of wildflower romance under her mom's vintage lace. The couple got married at the trendy, eclectic Katy’s Palace Bar in Sandton which perfectly matched Antoinette’s unconventional bridal style.

Bridal Hairpiece Competition

In July this year, Dimity Bridal Studio exhibited at the Oakfield Farm Bridal Expo. We ran a competition for one lucky bride to win a one-of-a-kind bridal hairpiece. Siphumelele won our 1950's inspired fascinator with a silk taffeta bow. She wore it on her big day and looked stunning!

Wedding Inspirations Magazine Winter

Dimity was featured in the latest Wedding Inspirations Magazine 2017 winter issue. Our beaded lace Iris corset and draped silk taffeta skirt highlights the 2017 bridal trend of separates. Detachable flounce sleeves finished off the ensemble. Our second gown in the issue is the Leila dress featuring a plunging illusion mesh neckline and removable sheer silk organza overlay. This new creation celebrates the whimsical trend of 3D flowers and a deep v-neckline. Buy the latest issue to discover this year's hottest bridal trends from page 26.

A Whimsical Garden Wedding in Kloof, Kwa-Zulu Natal

June 2008

Janet's wedding dress was created out of ivory duchess satin and beaded embroidered lace. The sweetheart neckline and asymmetric flared skirt complimented her slim frame beautifully. We also made a flirty birdcage veil and hand-curled silk flower for her hair. Janet & Mathew were married in her childhood garden, under the canopy of the giant flame tree.
