Winter Wedding Dress

Getting married in the cooler months this year? Now is the perfect time to start thinking about your dream wedding dress. Dimity specialises in bespoke bridal gowns that reflect the bride's unique personality, style and the type of wedding she is having. For your winter wedding, take inspiration from one of our winter bridal looks.

Our Boho gown features seperates - a Chantilly lace blouse and a vintage pleated chiffon skirt with a Chantilly & Battenberg lace peplum. We can incorporate this idea into your bridal gown by creating a seperate lace bolero or shawl to keep you warm on your wedding day. A Floral 70s Inspired Dimity Gown

When Antoinette came to the Dimity studio in Blairgowrie, Randburg for her consultation, she told us she wanted a unique, non-traditional wedding dress. Antoinette's favourite singer is Stevie Nicks, who inspired the 1970's design that we constructed from her mother's own bridal gown. Dimity often completes orders where a bride wants us to incorporate her mom's or gran’s dress. For Antoinette’s bodice, we used the swirly embroidered lace and guipure lace leaves from her mother’s gown. These were also dotted on her dramatic bell sleeves which made her dress a true showstopper! To finish off her unique Dimity bridal gown, we printed a custom floral print onto her crepe skirt which added a touch of wildflower romance under her mom's vintage lace. The couple got married at the trendy, eclectic Katy’s Palace Bar in Sandton which perfectly matched Antoinette’s unconventional bridal style.

Egoli Styled Shoot

The colour gold exudes elegance, luxury and glamour. Johannesburg is known as the City of Gold and what better place to have a styled shoot than Emoyeni in the heart of the city. Dimity worked with an incredible team of wedding industry suppliers and we all had one goal in mind: to explore the colour gold.

From the gold leaf makeup to the minimalist jewellery, this shoot highlighted the glamour and boldness of the precious metal. Our Tulle Bi Telli dress from the Dimity EcoBride collection is an ivory and gold gown, constructed from organic cotton sateen and Egyptian tulle hand-embellished with metal pieces. Zero-waste pattern-cutting was used to create this Eco-friendly bridal gown; meaning there is no off-cut fabric waste generated from the making of the dress. We hope to inspire your Jozi wedding dreams with these stunning photographs.

Enchanting forest elopement

Dimity EcoBride, Annemieke, was married in the beautiful forests of Magoebaskloof, Limpopo in May 2017. The gown, hand-crafted at the Dimity Bridal Studio in Johannesburg, embodied the EcoBride principles of sustainability and truly matched the gorgeous forest setting. Annemieke's gown featured nude texturised crepe georgette and tulle. The corsetted bodice was embellished with vintage French Chantilly lace and guipure leaves, as well as antique Egyptian tulle. It was  finished off with an exposed lace-up and a dramatic train.  The addition of custom made tassels added a sense of whimsy to her Dimity EcoBride gown.

An Eco-Chic Cape Town Styled Shoot

Dimity Bridal Studio sent one of our EcoBride wedding dresses to beautiful Cape Town for an Eco-themed styled shoot. Our eco-friendly bridal gowns feature slow fashion and zero waste principles in pattern making, cutting and sewing. One way to be earth-sensitive is using reclaimed fabrics instead of brand new materials (which are polluting in their creation).
Our Camille crop used in the shoot was constructed from reclaimed silk satin and antique French Chantilly lace. It was paired with the Boho skirt which features antique pleated chiffon with varied French Chantilly lace and cotton tape lace flowers. It was wonderful to be involved in this unique styled shoot. We hope you are inspired to go green for your wedding day!
