Floral Beauty

We're still swooning over this photo from the Admired in Africa conference last May of our Leila gown. The 3D georgette flowers and romantic lace paired beautifully with those gorgeous flowers!

Serenade to a love song!

Earlier this year, Dimity was involved in a styled shoot filled with music, singing and a picturesque river setting. The shoot was at the forest venue at Toadbury Hall and was organised by Johannesburg-based destination-wedding planner, Weddings by Tasha. It was wonderful working with the inspiring models - The Voice SA star Josh Ansley and his gorgeous wife, Kerryn Ansley. She wore Dimity's Iris corset which features a scooped back and sumptuous embroidered beaded lace. The corset was paired with a tulle skirt adorned in antique filet lace and delicate hand-worked crochet details. This gorgeous shoot was also featured in Troukoors – follow this link to see more.

An Eco-Chic Cape Town Styled Shoot

Dimity Bridal Studio sent one of our EcoBride wedding dresses to beautiful Cape Town for an Eco-themed styled shoot. Our eco-friendly bridal gowns feature slow fashion and zero waste principles in pattern making, cutting and sewing. One way to be earth-sensitive is using reclaimed fabrics instead of brand new materials (which are polluting in their creation).
Our Camille crop used in the shoot was constructed from reclaimed silk satin and antique French Chantilly lace. It was paired with the Boho skirt which features antique pleated chiffon with varied French Chantilly lace and cotton tape lace flowers. It was wonderful to be involved in this unique styled shoot. We hope you are inspired to go green for your wedding day!

A Traditional Scottish Affair!

Samantha married Ray, in wintry Dullstroom at a stunning Scottish wedding in May 2017. Dimity created a sash made from Ray's family tartan which followed the Scottish tradition that says “when the father of the bride hands over his daughter to her soon to be husband at the altar, he will take a piece of the husband’s tartan and place it over the bride to show that she has been given over to a new clan". We also created the double-sided hand-tying ribbon featuring both the bride and groom’s family tartans. This was used during the ceremony while a poem was read to bless the marriage. Since the wedding was in Winter, Samantha also asked Dimity to design her a jacket from her family's tartan. This was the same tartan the bride’s mother used to dance in when she was a little girl. The jacket featured ballet-wrap styling and a shawl collar to finish off her ultra-feminine bridal look.
A few words from the bride: “I cannot thank the wonderful ladies at Dimity for the stunning traditional touches they created to help perfect the day of our dream. ”

Admired in Africa Conference 2017

Dimity was front & centre at the Admired in Africa conference in May this year at the picturesque Hertford Country Hotel in Lanseria. The conference was a 3-day photography workshop attended by many of South Africa’s most talented wedding photographers. Our bridal gowns were photographed beautifully - one of our favourites being Rensche-Mari’s styled shoot featuring our Boho dress. Other wedding dresses that were featured include our ‘Leila’ gown with flower embellishments and our ‘Lottie’ skirt paired with the reclaimed silk satin and Chantilly lace ‘Camille’ crop. The photographers also played around with our dramatic cathedral veil producing some staggeringly beautiful images!
